I went on a ski trip to Cervinia, Valle d'Aosta, Italy in January, 1997. We enjoyed wonderful sunny weather and great snow. While it didn't snow while we were there, we had fresh powder for the first week. It appears that the locals would rather ski on the piste (trail) than in powder. Well, we didn't complain. We skied the lifts most days, but did some touring with Lino, the owner of the skating rink. One day we hired a guide, Lucio Carrel, who took us on a day long tour through three valleys.
